Airport to Dambulla
You'll arrive at the airport and meet your English-speaking chauffeur, then head to Dambulla to check in at your hotel. After settling in, the afternoon takes you to the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with five caves containing Buddha statues and detailed murals. Following that, you'll take a village tour through rural Sri Lanka, experiencing canoe rides, bullock cart rides, and tuk-tuk rides while trying local food along the way.

Following breakfast, you'll travel to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient 5th-century palace sitting 200 meters high on a massive rock. You'll explore the frescoes, water gardens, and Lion's Paw gate before checking out the museum. From there, you'll drive to Kandy and catch a traditional cultural dance performance that evening featuring Sri Lankan dancers and musicians. Later, you can visit the Temple of Tooth during evening hours when the lighting is particularly peaceful, then take a quiet walk around Kandy's central lake.

After breakfast, you'll spend time at the Peradeniya Botanical Garden walking through collections of rare and native plants, trees, and shrubs while spotting different bird species around the large lake. Then you'll board the scenic train from Kandy to Ella, which offers great views of tea plantations, hills, and valleys during the journey. You'll arrive in Ella and get settled at your hotel for the night.

You'll leave after breakfast and head toward Udawalawe with stops at three locations. First comes the Nine Arch Bridge, a 91-meter stone structure set in thick jungle, followed by a hike up Little Adam's Peak for views across the surrounding hills and valleys. Next you'll see Ravana Falls, a 25-meter waterfall with lush vegetation around it. Then you'll continue to Udawalawe National Park for a safari to see elephants, sloth bears, and birds in their natural setting. By evening, you'll travel to Colombo and check into your hotel.
